What we collect

Backpack Trail Guide doesn't have accounts, comments, or sign-up forms, so we don't ask for your name or email address.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how people use the site: which pages are read, how visitors find us, and what kinds of devices and browsers they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. We use these reports only in summary form, to decide what to write and fix next.

Google processes this information under its own policies. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits with Google's opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Affiliate links

Some product links go to retailers such as Amazon and REI through affiliate programs. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may set its own cookies so it can credit us for a purchase.
